BOM Fest review

30/07/2006

"BOMfest 2006 was about to explode into a serious day of music and ended with a hardcore 300 rockin the marquee to Nucleus roots and then to end the night Nik Turner went on and sexed up what could have been a wet ending.
From 12 noon the day was opening perfectly and all the festival staff felt the great vibe which was building.

Great performances by Kanvas, My Device, Baddies, Azura, Raised by Animals,Superfreak, Skinboat and the lost 45s. The came the rain. It pissed it down for a good 90 minutes and with none of the stages having all weather gear, all the equipment got wet. That wet they dearnt turn them back on in case the lot blew up. The BOM team were gutted. Like fish in a mongers.

Senser had already arrived at 6pm and were watching most of the crowd leave as they were turning up. (not a good sign). After a chat and a cup of coffee the lads head back down south. Nik Turner was asked if he would play the acoustic roots tent instead of the main stage and he was up for it. If you hung around for the treat im sure you enjoyed thisen. 2007 IS ALREADY UNDER WAY... and Senser have said they will play.

Next year will have to be at a different venue due to the festival reaching maximum attendance and has showing the town it can stage a larger music festival.

To support BOMfest 2007 WRITE TO THE CHRONICLE SUPPORTING THE ORGANISERS EFFORTS. All the great young bands on the extreme stage was good to see and long live BOMfest."
