As a mere individual, I am forced to adopt the roles and personalities of several distinct, and not always amicable band members. E.g. - on bass, I gain a good 40 pounds, and offer no input to the musical proceedings, etc.
Classically trained, I have played guitar for 14 years (having studied jazz at the Birmingham Conservatoire), and served a lengthy apprenticeship in club bands, covers bands, jazz ensembles, and classical guitar ensembles.
