The Western Front are a 6 piece band from Barnsley that blur the lines between
punk, indie, rock and other forms of guitar based music. Combining the
intuitive and technical guitar sound of Television and The Smiths with the
honesty and intensity of the Clash and the Pistols, they are the musical
equivalent of shock and awe, with their short, explosive, but always melodic
songs, containing layers of guitars, militaristic drumbeats, direct lyrics and
driving basslines. Rather than be content with being a poor pastiche of their
musical descendents as too many modern bands are, this band promises to surpass
them with the whole world watching.
