Formed in the summer of 2008, Wakefield based band The Tracks take on their influence from the likes of Joy Division, U2, The Killers, Editors, The Smiths, The Cure and The Bravery.
The sound of The Tracks is very music described as Post Punk/Alternative/Indie and very 80's, Their meaningful lyrics, sonic guitars and synths with driving bass lines really give The Tracks a new and exciting sound, that really shows through at their live shows, where they give it their all.
The tracks soon set up base at Diamond Studios in Wakefield, where they get down to business and get creative with the writings of new material, and perfecting the old stuff, and then head over to Splash Studios in Knottingley, West Yorkshire to record various Ep's and their debut album "Theory Of Movement" completed and released in August 2010 with 14 tracks
They have had around 4 to 5 songs on the radio with one song also appearing on the bbc introducing radio program.
Gig highlights include a slot on the main stage at the clarence park in wakefield and playing at the batley frontier
2008 - first demo 'green lights'
2009 - second demo 'Dare to begin'
2010 - Album 'Theory of movement'
2011 - 3rd demo 'Subtle Hints'
The Tracks recently topped their biggest gig in 2010 at clarence with a support slot at the batley frontier, they are hoping for new and exciting things to follow these achievement and think that 2011 will be a very good year with songs well on their way to been developed for their second album
